DRAW FOR TRI CUP MATCHUPS
We will hold a public draw to detemine the team matchups for the tri cup on Tuesday night @ BQE Billiards @9pm come down and check out the draw!
We will post the results of the draw and the rosters of eligible players with skill levels by Thursday night - keep in mind - ALL TEAMS WILL BE PLAYING WITH THEIR FALL ROSTERS!
The tri cup tournament will be 1 round of play!
2010 MEMBERSHIP DUES
•All 2010 membership fees are due this week. Your scoresheet will indicate the amount owed next to your name.
•Most players have a fee of $25, unless they joined after August 15, 2009 in which case their membership fee is just $15 for all of 2010.
•Please note that you only have to pay this fee once, even if you are on multiple teams. If you already paid your 2010 membership dues on another team, please indicate that on your scoresheet.
•If you play a match this week, you must pay your membership dues. Please note that teams that have players with outstanding membership dues will not earn bonus points.
"FILL-A-BYE" BONUS
If you fill a "Bye" in a division with an odd number of teams, your new team will receive a $100 credit! The following divisions have Byes:

• MONDAY NIGHT BREAK BILLIARDS 8/9-BALL
• TUESDAY NIGHT OCEAN’S 8 8/9-BALL
• TUESDAY NIGHT NE QUEENS 8-BALL
• TUESDAY NIGHT ASTORIA 8-BALL
• TUESDAY NIGHT BQE BILLIARDS 8/9-BALL
• THURSDAY NIGHT BAY RIDGE 8-BALL
• SUNDAY AFTERNOON HALL OF FAME 8/9-BALL

$5,000 FALL 2009 TRI-CUP TOURNAMENT INFO
The $5,000 2009 Fall 8-Ball and 9-Ball Tri Cup Tournaments will be held Saturday, February 13 at Racks Billiards. Doors open at 11:00 AM for practice, and the Tournament will start at 12:00 PM sharp. Please do not be late. All matches will take place on 9 ft. tables.
All 8-ball and 9-ball Fall Division Winning teams will participate in this event!
Racks Billiards is located at 19-26 Steinway St., Astoria, NY 11105

What is the Jack & Jill Tournament?
The Jack & Jill Tournament is an 8-ball only team tournament where each team consists of one male and one female member. The combined skill level for each team cannot exceed 10 and Scotch Doubles rules apply.
•The "Split Your Team Bonus" is back for the 2010 Spring Session. If you split your team up to form two new team, both teams will receive TWO WEEKS CREDIT! Great for teams with multiple high skill level players.
UNDERSTANDING DEFENSIVE SHOTS IN THE APA
For all APA members. This video is very informative and explains in detail what exactly a defensive shot is.
There will be more to come on defensive shots starting with the Fall Session. Along with this video, all members should read the new "Skill Levels Q & A", posted near the top of this page.
